Abstract
The aim of this study was to determine the Ultrasonographic configuration of healthy in the arabian stallions. The study was performed in 15 Arabian stallion aged between 12 and 22 years in Şanlıurfa Horse Production Center. The stallions were not sedated or anaesthetized before examination. All the examinations were performed in standing animals. Ultrasonographic examinations were completed by the use of a 6.0 Mhz lineer probe.Regular, echogen appearance was obtained by examination of the testes with ultrasound. A centralvenous region was identified which appeared hypoechogen in the central area of the testis in transversal and sagittal sections. The capsulae of the testes were hyperechogen. Echogen and hyperechogen regions were determined in the epididymis. Hypoechoic or hyperechoic appearances obtained in the testis and epididymis differing from these images might be a sign of a pathological situation.
