The alterations of the development of urolithiasis in the cats

Abstract
The cats that were brought to the clinics with the urinary system complaint, generally have the problem of urolithiasis. Between the years of 2001 - 2003; 174 cats (81.6 % male, 28.4 % female), which were brought to the clinics, inspected for urolithiasis by the method of urine analysis. More than 90% of the cases were occurred in house cats. The cats of this study was belong to 5 different breeds. The urolithiasis problem is most frequently determined in lokal breed (56.3 %) and Persian (25.3 %) cats. The types of calculi were determinded as; 58.6 % struvite, 33.3 % calcium oxalate and 4.6 % amonium ureat. The mean age was found to be 6.2.

Üriner sistem şikayeti ile kliniklere gelen kedilerin büyük çoğunluğunda ürolitiyaz problemi bulunmaktadır. 2001 -2003 yılları arasında kliniğimize bu şikayetle getirilen (% 81.6'sı erkek, % 28.4 'ü dişi) 174 kedi idrar analizleri yapılarak urolithiasis yönünden incelendi. Vakaların % 90'dan fazlasını ev kedileri oluşturmaktadır. Kedilerin ortalama yaşları 6.2±3.5 olarak belirlendi. Çalışmada kullanılan kedilerin 5 ayrı ırkta ait olduğu görüldü. Bu ırklar arasında en sık ürolitiyaz problemi, yerli (% 56.3) ve İran (% 25.3) ırkı kedilerde tespit edildi. İdrar taşlarının % 58.6'sınm struvit, % 33.3'ünün kalsiyum okzalat, % 4.6'sının da amonyum üreat niteliğinde oluğu saptandı.
