Study on life table of cotton whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius) (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) on different cotton cultivars under the lobaratory conditions

Abstract
In this study, the effects of different cotton cultivars on reproduction ability of Bemisia tabaci was investigated. B. tabaci was concluded the duration of longest pre-oviposition and the shortest oviposition on cv. DP 5409, respectively 0.76 and 6.35 days. The shortest post-oviposition was found on cv DP 388 (0.07 days) and the longest was found on cv DP 5409 (1.00 day). The shortest of total pre-oviposition, oviposition and post-oviposition period of B. tabaci was on cv DP 388 with 5.13 days, the longest was on cv DP 50 with 7.90 days. The shortest life span of male B. tabaci was detected 2.93 days on cv DP 388, the longest on cv DP 20 with 6.41 days. The longevity of female was also determined. The longest and the shortest longevity were determined on cv. DP 50 and cv. DP 388 respectively. Total laid eggs of female were highest on cv. DP 20 and the lowest on cv. DP 5111. The highest net reproduction rate (R0) and duration of generation (T0) of B. tabaci was calculated on cv DP 20, respectively 13.49 and 22.42 days. Intrinsic rate of natural increase (rm) was highest on cv Ç. 1518 while the lowest on cv DP 5111.

Bu çalışmada farklı pamuk çeşitlerinin B. tabaci’nin üreme gücüne etkisi ortaya çıkarılmıştır. B. tabaci preovipozisyon süresini en kısa ve ovipozisyon süresini en uzun DP 20 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde sırasıyla 0.76 gün ve 6.35 günde tamamlamıştır. Postovipozisyon süresi en kısa 0.07 gün ile DP 388 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde, en uzun ise 1.00 gün ile DP 5409 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde bulunmuştur. B. tabaci’nin toplam preovipozisyon, ovipozisyon ve postovipozisyon toplam süreleri en kısa 5.13 gün ile DP 388 pamuk çeşidinde, en uzun 7.90 gün ile DP 50 pamuk çeşidinde tamamladığı belirlenmiştir. B. tabaci erkek birey ömür uzunlukları en kısa 2.93 gün ile DP 388 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde en uzun ise 6.41 gün ile DP 20 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde tamamladığı ortaya çıkarılmıştır. Dişilerin ömrü boyunca bıraktıkları yumurta sayıları en fazla DP 20 pamuk çeşidinde en az ise DP 5111 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde belirlenmiştir. B. tabaci’nin net üreme gücü (R0) ve ortalama döl süresi (T0) en fazla DP 20 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde sırasıyla 13.49 ve 22.42 gün olarak hesaplanmıştır. Kalıtsal üreme kapasitesi (rm), en yüksek Ç. 1518 pamuk çeşidinde en düşük ise DP 5111 pamuk çeşidi üzerinde bulunmuştur.
