Non-Periodic Genotypes in Apple Population of Posof District

Posof Yöresi Elma Popülasyonunda Periyodisite Göstermeyen Tiplerin Belirlenmesi

Abstract

Morphological and pomological characteristics of existing apple genetic resources in Posof Central district and its affiliated villages were investigated. The study lasted more than 2 years. The superior and promising types in terms of tendency to periodicity among 111 apple genotypes selected among the apple variety assets of the region were evaluated. According to the result of the study; 13 out of 111 apple types selected (POSOF-02, POSOF-04, POSOF-07, POSOF-26, POSOF-32, POSOF-48, POSOF-61, POSOF-62, POSOF-68, POSOF-69, POSOF-70, POSOF-86, POSOF-103) did not show periodicity, meaning almost same amount of fruit were harvested from each of the genotype. In these apple genotypes, the average firmness of fruit flesh was found to be 9.04–14.36 lb, fruit weight 155.50–241.5 g, fruit width 74.1–87.9 mm, soluble solids content 9.0– 15.0%. While the harvest started in the first week of October and the third week at the latest, the number of days from full bloom to harvest was the shortest 152 days and the longest 164 days.

Özet

Posof Merkez ilçe ve bağlı köylerinde yürütülen bu araştırmada, mevcut elma genetik kaynaklarının morfolojik ve pomolojik özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Bölgenin elma çeşit varlığı içerisinden seçilen 111 elma genotipinden periyodisiteye eğilim bakımından üstün ve ümitvar tipler tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Çalışma süresince düzenli meyve veren tipler ‘periyodisite göstermeyen tipler’ olarak belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre; seçilen 111 elma tipin 13’ünde (POSOF-02, POSOF-04, POSOF-07, POSOF-26, POSOF-32, POSOF-48, POSOF-61, POSOF-62, POSOF-68, POSOF-69, POSOF-70, POSOF-86, POSOF-103) her yıl düzenli meyve alınmıştır. Bu elma genotiplerinde; ortalama meyve eti sertliği 9.04–14.36 lb, meyve ağırlığı 155.50–241.5 gr, meyve eni 74.1–87.9 mm, suda çözünebilir kuru madde miktarı %9.0–15.0 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Hasada en erken Ekim ayının ilk haftası ile en geç üçüncü haftasında başlanırken, tam çiçeklenmeden hasada kadar geçen gün sayıları en kısa 152 gün ile en uzun 164 gün olmuştur.
