The Evalution of Graduate Thesis on Tourism Education by Content Analysis Method

Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to examine the postgraduate theses in the field of tourism education in Türkiye. The graduate theses, which have been registered in the database of the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education with the key word "tourism education" have been included in the study. As a result of the survey, it has been determined that there are a total of 57 graduate theses in different fields, which are key word tourism education. In this study, by analyzing the content of the postgraduate thesis on tourism education, it was aimed to create a road to students and persons who have received, studied and thinking to receive tourism education. As a result of the study, the importance of postgraduate studies on "tourism education" realized in our country, which is an important tourism destination all over the world, attracted attention. Another remarkable issue related to the study is the fact that tourism branches are used in similar names but as branches of different branches. It is recommended that the basic disciplines that make up the tourism industry such as hospitality, travel, guidance and business management should be gathered under a common program framework.
Özet
Bu çalışmada Türkiye’de turizm eğitimi alanında yapılan lisansüstü tezlerin incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmaya, Yüksek Öğretim Kurumu (YÖK) Ulusal Tez Merkezi veri tabanında kayıtlı lisansüstü tez içerisinden anahtar kelimesi “turizm eğitimi” olan tezler dâhil edilmiştir. Yapılan tarama sonucunda anahtar kelimesi turizm eğitimi olan, farklı alanlarda yapılmış toplam 57 lisansüstü tez olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu çalışmada, turizm eğitimi konulu lisansüstü tezlerin içerik analizi yapılarak, turizm eğitimi almış, almakta olan ve almayı düşünen öğrenci ve kişilere de bir yol çizmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma neticesinde, dünya genelinde önemli bir turizm destinasyonu olan ülkemizde gerçekleştirilmiş “turizm eğitimi” konulu lisansüstü çalışmaların azlığı dikkat çekmiştir. Çalışma ile ilgili bir başka dikkat çeken konu da, turizm başlıklı anabilim dallarının benzer isimde olması fakat farklı anabilim dalları olarak kullanılmasıdır. Otelcilik, seyahat, rehberlik ve işletmecilik gibi turizm endüstrisini oluşturan temel disiplinlerin ortak bir program çatısı altında toplanması önerilmektedir.
