Malleable penile prosthesis implantation in the treatment of impotence

Abstract
Penile prosthesis implantation is most effective and popular method in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. In between 1990-1999, malleable penile prosthesis were applied in our clinic to 106 patients (ages 24-65, mean 54) with erectile dysfunction due to different etiologies. Urethral rupture was seen in 1 patient (0.94%), glans erosion in 1 patient (0.94%) and flaccid glans in 3 patients. Prosthesis implantation was unsuccessful in 1 patient (0.94%) due to fibrosis in corporal bodies postoperative infection was seen 2 patient (1.88%) easy usage, cost effectiveness and no mechanical problems were imported factors in malleable prosthesis selection. Penile prosthesis were extracted in 3 patients (2.82%) because of complication.
Özet
Penil protez implantasyonu erektil disfonksiyon tedavisinde en etkili ve popüler bir yöntemdir. Kliniğimizde 1990-1999 yıllan arasında yaşları 24-65 arasında değişen (ortalama 54) çeşitli nedenlere bağlı erektil disfonksiyon tanısı alan 106 hastaya bükülebilir tip penil protez uygulanmıştır, 1 hastada (%0.94) üretral rüptür, 1 hastada (%0.94) glans erezyonu, 3 hastada (%2.82) flask glans görüldü, 1 hastaya corporal fibrozis nedeniyle protez takılamadı. 2 hastada (%1.88) postoperatif enfeksiyon gelişti 3 hastada (%2.82) meydana gelen komplikasyonlar nedeniyle protez çıkartıldı. Hastalar tarafından kolay kullanımı, düşük ekonomik maliyeti, mekanik problemlerin olmaması nedeniyle bükülebilir protezler tercih edildi.
