Abstract
Introduction: Chronic prostatitis and related symptoms seriously impair the sexual life quality of especially the younger ones; the etiology of these disorders still remains obscure. In 90% of the patients, the culprit pathogens cannot be traced. The index called "NIH-CPSI", which stands for National Institute of Health - Chronic Prostatitis Symptoms Index, which is devised by the National Institute of Health (NIH) to establish the complaints of the patients objectively, is used during the evaluation of the patients. In this paper, we aimed to compare the impact of the symptoms of the illness on the life quality of the patients of a 6-week "ciprofloxasin" and terazosin treatment given to a group of patients younger than 45 with a low flow rate of urination and to another group of patients under the same age level but with a regular flow rate of urination.
Hastalığın tanısında hastaların şikayetlerini objektif hale dönüştüren Ulusal Sağlık Enstitüsü (National Institutes of Health-NIH) tarafından geliştirilmiş NIH-Kronik Prostatit Semptom İndeksi (NIH-Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index-NIH-CPSI) kullanılır.
