Primary transitional cell carcinoma of the male anterior urethra: Case report and review of the literature

Abstract

Introduction: In our case presentation, we have presented a primary transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the male anterior urethra which is a rare condition. In this case, differing from the literature, because of the multiple numbers of tumors following the excision and fulguration of the tumor, we have applied intravesical Mitomycine C treatment. In the follow-up of the illness we have used cystourethroscopy, urine cytology, nuclear matrix protein 22 (NMP22) and urinary system ultrasonography (USG). The patient is still under follow up and has no recurrence.

Özet

Bu olguda erkek ön üretrasının ender görülen primer transizyonel hücreli kanserini (TCC) sunduk. Literatürden farklı olarak tümörün eksizyonu ve fulgurasyonunu takiben çok sayıda tümör olduğu için intravezikal Mitomisin C tedavisi uyguladık. Hastalığın takibinde sistoüretroskopi, idrar sitolojisi, NMP22 ve üriner sistem USG kullandık. Hasta halen takibimiz altındadır ve nüks gelişmemiştir.
