Foundation of urology in Turkey and Professor Behçet Sabit Erduran (In the memory of 25th annıversary of his death)

Abstract

In the beginning of the 20th century urology notion had been started to be accepted as a separate scientific branch. The same concept had emerged at the same times in Turkey too. First urology clinic had been founded in 1909 and by 1910 it started as a free a separate clinic. Right at this term Behçet Sabit Erduran’s (who had key role in Turkish Urology) conditions of education, subspeciality, international clinics he had worked, and his efforts when returned to Turkey has been declared while the establishment of urology in Turkey is told, at the same time his role in the development of Turkish urology is emphasized. Moreover, by giving his publications both medical and paramedical not only his biography but also his bibliography has also been given.
