Abstract
In this study, it was emphasized the functions of the “neighbors/moujaviren” in Jerusalem such as Mecca and Medina in the Ottoman period, and it was made a comparison with the mourabitoun who defended the al-Aqsa today. In the past “neighbors of Jerusalem” and present-days “defenders of Jerusalem” are two similar groups who came to Jerusalem voluntarily. The most obvious common feature of both groups is that they are engaged in science and also they are neighbors of al-Aqsa and Jerusalem. While the motivation of both groups is neighboring to the holy city, the first was a group supported by surrah in Islamic domination in Jerusalem and the second was motivated to preserve the occupied sanctuaries. In this context, it is emphasized here that the role of the Palestinians who known as mourabitoun and preserved the Masjid al-Aqsa by making a psychological defense against Israeli occupation. When Israeli soldiers stepped on the Masjid al-Aqsa there was little conflict between them and the Palestinians. The last of these happened in July and the Masjid al-Aqsa was closed to Muslims. In this sense, it is also clear that more active efforts must be made to preserve the sanctity of this city, without forgetting that Jerusalem is a human inheritance
Bunlardan sonuncusu geçtiğimiz Temmuz ayı içinde yaşanmış ve Mescid-i Aksa Müslümanlara kapanmıştır.
