Posttraumatic pulmonary pseudo cyst

Abstract

Pulmonary pseudqcysts are lesions wlrich" 'develop rarely after blunt non-penetrating thoracic trauma, and heal spontaneously within 1-4 months without requiring a specific treatment History of thoracic trauma together with chest X-rays revealing cavitary lesion usually lead to the diagnosis. In some of the cases the presence of pulmonary contusion and hematoma may hide the cystic lesion. Computed tomography plays an important role in the earfy diagnosis of the lesions. In this case report a case of pulmonary pseudocyst is presented of which the diagiwsis was made by computed tomography and required surgical treatment sincethere was no spontaneous resorption.
