Competitive Power of Turkey with European Union Countries in Wood-Based Panel Industry

Abstract

Turkey, endeavoring for being member to European Union for a half century, made progress to reach criterionintended during this process. For this reason, we must appreciate our equity capitals and interpret them in thebest way. Forest products industry, using forests being one of the equity capitals for raw material, possesses animportant value among the sectors strengthening country’s economy.In this study, certain product groups belonging to wood-based panel industry situated in forest products industrywere discussed what situation they are in Turkey and European Union countries and competition position. In thiscontext, hierarchical cluster analysis and discriminant analysis being of multidimensional statistical methodswere used.
