Determination and Evaluation of Landscape Potential: Case Study of Ankara-Kalecik District and its Environs, Turkey

Abstract

This study has been aimed to produce a data layer in the frame of sustainable concept by using the criteria of lifecomfort which can be used as decision–support tool in landscape planning for Ankara Kalecik district and itsenvirons. For this purpose, a landscape potential determination method based on mathematical evaluation hasbeen developed and applied to the case area, Ankara-Kalecik district and its environs, in order to determine andevaluate the features of non-biotic and biotic beings that form the area's landscape by using geographicalinformation systems.
