INVESTIGATION OF AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION SYSTEM IN LANDSCAPE AREAS: THE CASE OF ANKARA

Abstract
Use of automatic irrigation is becoming more important in landscape projects. The case studies in this article cover three different regions within the Yenimahalle Municipal district in Ankara. It introduces the criteria for different phases of the irrigation projects in these regions and presents irrigation projects for each of them. The main goal of these projects is to bring the optimum irrigation to the green spaces in these regions with minimum water. In the conclusion section, this study argues that irrigation techniques vary depending on the use, design and plans of the landscape areas. The findings of this study also show that choice of irrigation systems is being affected by the geographical conditions and other features of landscape areas.
Özet
Peyzaj uygulamalarında otomatik sulamanın önemi gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Bu makalede, çalışma alanları olarak Ankara kentinde Yenimahalle Belediyesi’ne ait üç farklı bölge seçilmiştir. Seçilen bu farklı bölgelerdeki peyzaj alanlarında sulama projelerinin hazırlanmasındaki aşamalara ilişkin kriterler belirlenmiş ve her bir alan için sulama projesi tasarlanmıştır. Bu bölgelerde uygulanan farklı sulama sistemleri projelerindeki yeşil alanlar için minimum su miktarı kullanılarak optimum sulama yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak; her peyzaj kullanımı, tasarım ve planlaması için sulama tekniğinin değişim gösterdiği ve ayrıca peyzaj alanlarında yer alan ögelerin ve coğrafi özelliklerin sulama sistemi seçimini değişik oranlarda etkilediği görülmüştür
