Factor influencing the surgical outcome in esotrapia

Abstract
Many factors including preoperative deviation, axial length of the eye, refractive errors, age of the patient etc. can influence the response to horizontal strabismus surgery. We analysed the results of strabismus surgery in 65 patients with esotropia. Our results revealed that main factor influencing the surgical outcome was the preoperative deviation. We conclude that preoperative deviation is to be the strongest predictor for response to strabismus surgery for esotropic patients.
Özet
Preoperatif kayma miktari, gözün aksiyel uzunlugu, refraktif kusurlar, olgunun yasi ve benzeri pek çok faktör horizontal sasilik cerrahisi sonuçlarini etkileyebilir. Bu çalismada içe kaymasi olan 65 olguya ait cerrahi sonuçlar analiz edilmistir. Bulgularimiz cerrahi sonuca etki eden en önemli faktörün preoperatif kayma miktari oldugunu ortaya koymustur. Iç sasiligi bulunan olgularda preoperatif kaymanin sasilik cerrahisinin basarisini belirleyen en önemli faktör oldugunu söyleyebiliriz.
