Abstract
From stools of113 childiren, who came owing to complain of diarrhoea to our outpatient department, microbiolojic cultures have been made to identify the etiologic agent. From this cultures, 28.3 % Ro-tavirus has been identified. The other agents were S. typhimurium (10.6 %), EPEC (7 %), S. flexneri (2.7 %), Candida (0.8 %) and Giardia (0.8 %). C jejuni has been searched, but from nobody could be ide-ified. 83.2 % of this children were 1-12 monts old. In autumn, the incidence of pathologic agents were sig¬nificantly higher as in winter (p< 0.05). According to our findings, diarrhoea is still an important di¬sease among the childiren who are 0-2 years old and the rotavirüs is the most frequent cause of di¬arrhoea in childiren, specially in cold seasons.
