The features of the unit of child emergency and its patients

Abstract

14.941 patients applied for the Emergency Service of Department of the Medical Faculty of the Selçuk University between 1st January 1998 and 31st December 1998 Infection diseases were the most common problem, accounting 23% of all upper respiratory infection diseases and accounted 48.4% of all infection diseases. 52% percent of the children admitted to the emergency service were real cases and 11% percent of the children were those who were supposed to be real cases and 37 % percent the children were not real cases. Patients were mostly admitted to the emergency clinic in winter, especially in January and between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. According to their age levels, They were mostly between at the age level of 5-12 years. If Emergency Medicine Services can be well organised and extended in our country whose half of population is children, the standard of quality in the Units of Children Emergency will be increased.

Özet

Selçuk Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk Acil Birimine 1 Ocak 1998 - 31 Aralık 1998 tarihleri arasında 14.941 hasta başvurdu. Başvuru nedenleri arasında ilk sırada enfeksiyon hastalıkları (% 48.4) gelmekte olup, bunlarında % 23'ü üst solunum yolları enfeksiyonu idi. Acil birimine getirilen çocukların % 52'si gerçek acil, % 11'i acil olduğu düşünülerek getirilenler ve % 37'sini acil olmayan hastalar oluşturdu. Hastaların en çok kış mevsiminde ve ocak ayında, günün vardiyasına göre dağılımı incelendiğinde en çok 8.00-16.00 nöbetinde, yaş gruplarına göre de en çok 5-12 yaş grubunda getirildikleri görüldü. Nüfusunun yaklaşık yarısını çocuk ve ergenlerin oluşturduğu ülkemizde, Çocuk Acil Servisi Sistemleri, iyi organize edilerek yaygınlaştırılırsa Çocuk Acil Birimlerinde verilen hizmetin kalitesi artacaktır.
