Congenital pulmonary arterio-venous fistulas

Abstract
Two patients have been operated for pulmonary arteriovenous fistula at the Department of Thoracic Surgery, School of Medicine, University of Selcuk, Konya. The patients were adults, 49 and 62 years-old. Fistules were localized in the right lower lobe in first one and in the right upper lobe in second. The type of the operation was lobectomy in both cases. Among our patients with pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas, hereditary hemorrhagic telengiectasia was not observed. In this article, the pathogenesis, clinical features, pathophysiologic changes, and treatment of pulmonary arteriovenous fistulas are discussed.
Özet
SÜ Tip Fakültesi Gögüs Cerrahisi servisinde, iki olgu pulmoner arteriovenöz fistül nedeniyle ameliyat edildi. Olgular, 49 ve 62 yaslarinda, eriskin hastalardi. Fistüller, birinci olguda sag alt lobda, digerinde sag üst lobda lokalize idi. Her iki olguda lobektomi yapildi. Pulmoner arteriovenöz fistüllü olgularimiz arasinda herediter hemorajik telenjiektazi gözlenmedi. Bu makalede, oldukça ender görülen pulmoner arteriovenöz fistüllerin patogenezi, klinigi, patofizyolojik degisiklikleri ve tedavisi, olgularimiz münasebetiyle literatür isiginda gözden geçirildi ve tartisildi.
