Negative pressure pulmonary edema

Abstract

Pulmonary edema following the obstruction of an upper airway is an uncomman and unpredictable clinical situation. In this case report, it was aimed to discuss the ethiology, pathophsiology, diagnosis and treatment methods of negative pressure pulmonary edema (NPPE) that developed just after the resolution of laringopasm in the patient who underwent to gynecologic operation. Early diagnosis and treatment can af fect the mortality and morbidity in NPPE.

Üst hava yolu tıkanıklığı sonrası gelişen akciğer ödemi önceden tahmin edilemeyen nadir bir klinik durumdur. Bu çalışmada bir olgu nedeniyle negatif basınçlı akciğer ödeminde (NBAÖ) etyoloji, patofizyoloji, teşhis ve tedavi yöntemlerinin tartışılması amaç landı. Genel anestezi altında jinekolojik cerrahi geçiren bir hastada, ekstübasyon sonrası oluşan laringospazmın çözülmesinin ardından NBAÖ gelişmiştir. NBAÖ’ de erken teşhis ve tedavi, mortalite ve morbiditeyi etkileyebilmektedir.
