Respiratory function test and blood gases parameters alterations after valve replacement in mitral stenosis patients

Mitral stenozlu hastalarda kapak replasmanı sonrası solunum fonksiyon testi ve kan gazı parametrelerindeki değişiklikler

Abstract

Patients with mitral stenosis have been demostrated to have respiratory dysfunction and abnormal perfusion distribution in the lung. A controversy has existed with regard to improvement of the pulmonary function after surgery. The aim of this study was to demonstrate the degree of improve of lung function after mitral valve replacement in patients with mitral stenosis. We investigated changes of the respiratory functions postoperatively one year later in 30 patients who undergone mitral valve replacement because of mitral stenosis. This study has shown that improvement of respiratory functions was statistically significant. We suggest that the changes which cause pulmonary disfunction in cases with mit-ral stenosis, are mostly reversible.

Özet

Mitral stenozlu hastalarda solunum fonksiyon bozukluğu ve akciğerlerin anormal perfüzyonu gösterilmiştir. Bu hastalarda, cerrahi tedaviyi takiben solunum fonksiyonlarında düzelmenin olup olmadığı tartışmalıdır. Çalışmamızda mitral stenozlu hastalarda; mitral kapak replasmanından sonra pulmoner fonksiyonlardaki düzelmenin derecesini araştırmak amacıyla; kapak replasmanı yapılan 30 hastada, bir yıl sonra solunum fonksiyonlarındaki değişiklikler incelendi. Bu çalışma sonucunda, solunum fonksiyonlarında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı düzelmenin olduğu gösterildi. Biz mitral stenozlu hastalarda pulmoner fonksiyon bozukluğuna yol açan değişikliklerin önemli kısmının reversibl olduğunu düşünmekteyiz.
