Abstract
Carbonized wood samples from the archeological excavations of the Olba Acropolis in the North Tower in 2016 form the subject of this work. Anatomical data of the carbonized woods determined on the basis of anthracological and xylological investigations show that these specimens were Juglans cf regia L. (common walnut) species belonging to the genus Juglans from the family Juglandaceae. Common walnut is a species that naturally grows in Turkey and is cultured in many regions of the country. For this reason, it is natural to use timber in the stone architecture developed by utilizing the rocky structure of the region. The wooden specimens (common walnut) in this study may have been utilized in architectural arrangements in North Tower or in any furniture; it is more likely to be used for goods
