In vitro and in vivo effects of essential oil of oregano on Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vesicatoria (Doidge) dye

Abstract
The activities of essential oil of oregano were tested against Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vesicatoria in vitro and in vivo. The essential oil of oregano had a minimum inhibitory and bactericidal efifect at the concentration cf 1000 $\mug ml^{-1}$ against X. axonopodis pv. vesicatoria in vitro . The highest prevention of the disease was observed at the concentration of 2000 $\mug ml^{-1}$ of the essanUal oil in vivo tests. The potential antiseptic activity of the essential oil has been compared to that of streptomycin sulfate.
Özet
Kekik yağının Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. vesicatoria 'ya karşı etkinliği in vitro ve in vivo denemelerle test edilmiştir. Kekik yağı, 1000 $\mug ml^{-1}$ dozunda minimum engelleyici ve bakterisidal etki göstermiştir, in vtuo testlerde kekik yağının uygulanan en yüksek dozunun (2000 $\mug ml^{-1}$ ) biber bitkilerinde patojen bakteri.tarafından oluşturulan yaprak lekesi hastalığım en Sazla önleyen doz olarak belirlenmiştir. Kekik yağının potansiyel antiseptik aktivitesi streptomycin sulfata (200 $\mug ml^{-1}$ ) ile karşılaştırılmıştır.
