Abstract
The philosophers like al-Kindi, Alpharabius, and Avicenna left many works in the field of Islamic philosophy with the transfer of ancient Greek thought to the Islamic world with translation. The ideas of Islamic philosophers not only influenced Muslim philosophers but also the Christian and Jewish philosophers living in Islamic geography. The development of the Jewish philosophy and the manifestation of the Jewish philosophers’ views have shown the parallel development of the Islamic philosophy. Although it is possible to talk about the philosophical thoughts of the Jewish philosophers with their ideas about kalâm and akaid, Islamic philosophers have a great role in shaping their thoughts. The influence of Islamic philosophy and Kalam schools in the thoughts of the Jewish philosophers who were influenced by the Islamic philosophers in the Islamic world, the Davud al-Mukammas (M.S. 937), The Jesus Christ Israel (d. 955) and Saadia Gaon (882-942) are evident. Among the Andalusian philosophers are the following: Solomon Ibn Gabirol (1021-58 or 1070), Abraham bin David (ca. 1110-80), Maimonides (1138-1204), Gersonides (1288- 1344), Judah Ha levi (1086- 1141), Moses Ibn Ezra, Joseph Ibn Zaddik of Cordova, Samuel Ibn Tibbon and Shem-Tob ibn Joseph. The purpose of this article is to illustrate the effect of Islamic theologians and philosophers on some Jewish theologians and philosophers with various examples.
