Abstract
Liposarcomas are the second most common tumors observed in patients presenting with soft tissue masses, for which they should be considered in the differential diagnosis. Although well-differentiated liposarcomas have better prognosis , they may be misdiagnosed as lipomas, which increases the risk of recurrences. Dedifferentiated type liposarcomas may develop in recurrent cases, which have a potential to metastasize. Thus, liposarcomas should be considered in slowly expanding soft tissue masses resembling lipomas. In this case presentation, a patient treated for liposarcoma of the shoulder with recurrence, operated previously as lipoma is presented.
