Comparison of catching efficiency of gill nets of various heights on fishing pekiperch ( Stizostedion lucioperca L. )

Abstract

Catching experiments were conducted with monofilament bottom gill nets (20 mm mesh size) of 30 (96 cm), 50 (160 cm), 70 (224 cm), and 100 (320 cm) meshes height to research the influence of gear height for catching pikeperch (S. lucioperca L.) in Lake Eğirdir and Beyşehir. In the study, in the net of 100 meshes height were caught more pikeperch than in the nets of 70, 50 and 30 meshes height in Lake Eğirdir 1.11, 1.16, 1.40 fold, and in Lake Beyşehir 0.97, 1.01 and 1.24 fold, respectively. According to these results of the study, also in the both lakes to catch the youth pikeperch the suitable height of the nets should be average 1.5 m.

Özet

Sudak balığı (S. lucioperca L.) avcılığında ağ yüksekliğinin av verimine etkisini araştırmak için, 30 (96 cm), 50 (160 cm), 70 (224 cm) ve 100 göz (320 cm) yüksekliklerindeki monofilament dip galsama ağları (20 mm göz genişliğinde) ile Eğirdir ve Beyşehir Göllerinde avcılık denemeleri yapılmıştır. Araştırmada, 100 göz yüksekliğindeki ağda, 70, 50 ve 30 göz yüksekliğindeki ağlardan sırasıyla Eğirdir Gölünde 1.11, 1.16, 1.40; Beyşehir Gölünde 0.97, 1.01 ve 1.24 kat daha fazla sudak balığı yakalanmıştır. Bu sonuçlara göre, her iki gölde bulunan genç bireylerin de avcılığında kullanılacak ağlar için en uygun ağ yüksekliği 1.5 m olmalıdır.
