Comparison of the meat yield and some growth characteristics of capoeta cepoeta umbla (Heckel,1843) populations living in Keban Dam Lake and Hazar Lake, Elazığ

Capoeta capoeta umbla (Heckel,1843)'nın Keban Baraj Gölü ve Hazar Gölü (Elazığ)'nde yaşayan populasyonlarının et verimi ve bazı büyüme özelliklerinin karşılaştırılması

Abstract

In this study, the meat yield and some growth characteristics of Capoeta capoeta umbla populations living in Keban Dam Lake and Hazar Lake were compared. The mean bone, gonad weights and gonadosomatic index value of three years old of C. c. umbla living in Hazar Lake were determined significantly higher than those of C. c. umbla living in Keban Dam Lake (p<0.05 for each case). On the other hand, the mean body, carcas and fillet weights of four years old of C. c. umbla living in Keban Dam Lake were founded significantly (p<0.05 for each case) higher than those of C. c. umbla living in Hazar Lake. In addition to these, the mean internal organs, gonad, fillet weights and gonadosomatic index value of five years old C. c. umbla living in Keban Dam Lake were found significantly higher than those of Hazar Lake (p<0.05 for each case). There was not a significant difference between the mean total lenght, fin, liver weights, condition, hepatosomatic index, - carcas and fillet yields of the two different populations of C c. umbla (p>0.05 for each case). In addition, under the light of the present study, it was concluded that C. c. umbla living in Keban Dam Lake and Hazar Lake which have not been investigated commercially enough, possess the meat yield as much as many commercial fish species possess (for example; Cyprinus carpio, Abramis brama, Gadus euxinus, Trachurus meditarrenaus).

Bu çalışmada, Capoeta capoeta umbla'mn Keban Baraj Gölü ve Hazar Gölü'nde yaşayan populasyonlanmn et verimi ve bazı büyüme özellikleri karşılaştırıldı. Hazar Gölü'nde bulunan III yaşındaki C. c. umbla'mn kemik, gonad ağırlıkları ve gonadosomatik indeksine ait ortalama değerlerin, Keban Baraj Gölü'ndeki C. c. umbla'dan önemli derecede yüksek olduğu tespit edildi (p 0.05 her bir durum için). Ayrıca, bu çalışmanın sonucunda elde edilen bulguların ışığı altında, ticari olarak önemi yeterince araştırılmamış olan, Keban Baraj Gölü ve Hazar Gölü'nde yaşayan C c. umbla'nm diğer birçok ticari balık türleri (örneğin; Cyprinus carpio, Abramis brama, Gadus euxinus, Trachurus meditatrenaus)'ndeki kadar et verimine sahip olduğu sonucuna varıldı.
