Aquaculture in Burdur province and its potential

Abstract

In recent years, the aquaculture sector that is rapid progress has also become an important sector for Burdur province as in other provinces in Turkey. Burdur Province has important potential inland water for aquaculture. However, it is not possible to talk about this potential can be used effectively. Nevertheless, a total of 9411 tons / year capacity has been operating 67 licensed farms consisting of 65 trout and 2 carp in inland waters in Burdur Province in 2009. In terms of number of farms in Turkey, percentage number of farms in Burdur province is of 3.83% and as capacity is consists of 4.81%. Burdur province also has the fresh and brackish water, as well as alternative species and live food production would be considered an important opportunity. In this review, it was aim to determine aquaculture potential and current production status of Burdur province taking place Turkey's Mediterranean region. It was also to exhibit to be made things for growing sector. The sustainable development of aquaculture activities in Burdur province was also tried to be explained with sector analysis

Özet

Türkiye’de son yıllarda hızlı bir gelişme kaydeden su ürünleri yetiştiricilik sektörü diğer illerde olduğu gibi Burdur İli için de önemli bir sektör haline gelmiştir. Burdur İli Türkiye içsu ürünleri yetiştiriciliğinde önemli bir potansiyele sahiptir. Ancak, Burdur’daki bu potansiyelin verimli bir şekilde kullanılabildiğinden bahsetmek mümkün değildir. Yine de Burdur’da 2009 yılı verilerine göre 65 adet alabalık ve 2 adet sazan olmak üzere, toplam 9411 ton/yıl proje kapasiteli 67 adet ruhsatlı işletme faaliyet göstermektedir. Burdur İli su ürünleri sektörü işletme sayısı bakımından Türkiye toplamının %3,83’ünü; kapasite olarak ise %4,81’ini oluşturmaktadır. Ayrıca Burdur İli’nin sahip olduğu tatlı ve acı-tuzlu suların alternatif türlerin yanı sıra canlı yem üretimi açısından da önemli bir fırsat yaratacağı düşünülebilir. Bu derlemede, Türkiye’nin Akdeniz Bölgesi’nde yer alan Burdur İli’nin yetiştiricilik yoluyla elde edilen mevcut üretim durumunun ortaya konması, su ürünleri üretim potansiyelinin belirlenerek sektörün gelişimine yönelik yapılabilecek çalışmaların tespiti amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca, Burdur İli’nde akuakültür çalışmalarının sürdürülebilir gelişimi sektör analizi ile açıklanmaya çalışılmıştır.
