A case of Swyer-james syndrome

Abstract

A thirty-four-year old man with a recent history of recurent pneumonia was examined. Physical examination was unremarkable except for diminished breath sounds in the left lung. Chest radiography showed slight lucency in the left lung. Computed tomography scan showed air trapping in the left lung and there was hypovascularity on pulmonary angiography. Ventilation/perfusion scintigraphy, and other radiologic assessments, along with the patient's medical history suggested a diagnosis of Swyer-James syndrome.

Özet

Otuz dört yaşındaki erkek hasta sık pnörnoni geçirmesi nedeniyle hastanemizde kontrol edildi. Sol akciğerde solunum seslerinin azalması dışında patolojik bir bulguya rastlanmadı. Akciğer grafisinde solda hafif hiperlusens alan saptandı. Toraks bilgisayarlı tomografisinde sol akciğerde hava hapsi; akciğer anjiyografisinde sol pulmoner arterin küçük olduğu görüldü. Ventilasyon/perfüzyon sintigrafisi, radyolojik incelemeler ve hastanın öyküsü Swyer-James sendromuna işaret etmekteydi.
