Wide Field Angiography

Abstract

The retinal periphery is the site of pathology in several vi- sion-threatening retinal diseases. Visualization of the periph- eral retina using wide-fi eld angiography improves diagnosis, monitor and evaluate response to the treatment of these condi- tions. Traditional fundus cameras have off ered a 30- to 50-de- gree fi eld of view. Recent technology has advanced to provide up to a 200-degree fi eld of view. Wide fi eld angiography aff ord us the ability to angiographically examine the parts of the ret- ina previously not photographable. This review includes the role of wide fi eld angiography in the diagnosis and the man- agement of several retinal disease (diabetic retinopathy, reti- nal vein occlusion, hematologic disorders, uveitis, age related macular degeneration, myopia and pediatric retinal disease)

Özet

Periferik retinada görmeyi tehdit eden bazı retina hastalık- larına ait patolojik bulgular olabilir. Geniş açılı anjiyografi ile periferik retinanın görüntülenmesi bu hastalıkların tanı, takip ve tedaviye yanıtın değerlendirilmesinde önemli veriler sağlar. Geleneksel fundus kameralar 30-50 derecelik görüntü sağlarken gelişen teknoloji ile tek çekimde 200 dereceye kadar görüntü elde edilebilmiştir. Geniş açılı anjiyografi daha önce fotoğrafik olarak belgelenemeyen periferik retinanın anjiog- rafik olarak değerlendirilmesini sağlar. Bu derleme bazı reti- nal hastalıkların tanı ve tedavisinde geniş açılı anjiyografinin rolünü içermektedir (diyabetik retinopati, retina ven tıkanık- lığı, kan hastalıkları, üveit, yaşa bağlı makula dejenerasyonu, miyopi ve pediatric retina hastalıkları)
