Effects of bleaching processes and impregnation on the layer hardness of varnish for oak (Quercus petraea spp) wood

Abstract

In this study, a bleaching process on the impregnated and withcut impregnated oak (Quercus petraea spp.) wood have been contucted with 18 % concentration NaOH+H2O2, NaOH+ Ca(OH)2 +H2O2, NaOH+ MgSO4+H2O2, NaHSO3+H2C2O4.2H2, NaSiO3+H2O2, KMnO4 +NaHSO3+H2O2. after bleaching processes on the surface which is applied synthetic varnish, the effects of bleaching chemical materials on the varnish layer hardness are determined considering the basic of the ASTM-D-4366. As a result, the highest layer hardness is found on the examples impregnated with Tanalith-CBC (T-CBC) and whereas the lowest layer hardness is found on the examples impregnated with imersol-WR 2000 (I-WR 2000 ). The hardness of unvamish samples which processed with solution groups, was found higer than that varnished samples. The effect of solution groups process on the hardness of varnish layer was found to be unimportant but, the effect of varnish was found to be important.

Özet

Bu çalışmada, sapsız meşe (Quercus petraea spp.) odunundan emprenyeli ve emprenyesiz hazırlanan deney örneklerine % 18' lik NaOH+ H2O2,NaOH+ Ca(OH)2 +H2O2, NaOH+ MgSO4+ H2O2, NaHSO3 + H2C2O4.2H2,NaSiO3 + H2O2,KMnO4 +NaHSO3+ H2O2 çözelti grupları ile renk açma işlemi yapılmıştır. Renk açma işleminden sonra sentetik vernik uygulanan yüzeylerde renk açıcı kimyasal maddelerin vernik katman sertliğine, etkileri ASTM-D 4366 esaslarına uyularak belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak; sertlik değeri, T-CBC ile emprenye edilmiş örneklerde en yüksek, İ-WR 2000 ile emprenye edilen örneklerde en düşük bulunmuştur. Çözelti grupları ile işlem gören verniksiz örneklerin sertlikleri, çözelti grupları ile işlem gördükten sonra yüzeylerine vernik uygulanan örneklerden daha yüksek çıkmıştır. Vernik katman sertliğine çözelti gruplarının etkileri önemsiz, verniğin etkisi ise önemli bulunmuştur.
