Abstract
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HAND DISABILITY AND OTHER FACTORS IN PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS Twenty-five Patients (17 women, 8 men) were included in this study which was designed to examine the relationship between hand disability and other factors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Hand disability was assessed with the Stanford Health Asessment Questionnaire. Flexor tenosynovitis, ulnar deviation, buttonhole and swan neck deformities were present in 68%, 64%, 44%, and 36% of the patients respectively. The positive correlations of hand disability with morning stiffness, pain intensity (VAS), disease severity, Ritchie articular index, hand deformity index and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) were found statistically significant (p<0.05). There was negative correlation between hand disability and grip strength (p<0.05). The correlations of hand disability with age and disease duration were not statistically significant (p>0.05).
Özet
Romatoid ArtritTı (RA) hastalarda el disabilitesinin çeşitli faktörlerle ilişkisini incelemek amacıyla planlanan bu çalışmaya 25 hasta (17 kadın, 8 erkek) dahil edildi. El disabilitesi, Stanford Sağlık Değerlendirme Sorgulamasıyla değerlendirildi. El disabilitesiyle; yaş, hastalık süresi, sabah tutukluğu, ağrı şiddeti, hastalık şiddeti, Ritchie eklem indeksi, el sıkma gücü ve eritsosit sedimentasyon hızı arasındaki ilişki araştırıldı. Fleksor tenosinovit, ulnar deviasyon, düğme iliği ve kuğu boynu deformiteleri sırasıyla hastaların %68, %64, %44, %36'sında mevcuttu. El disabilitesiyle; sabah tutukluğu, ağrı şiddeti (VAS), hastalık şiddeti, Ritchie eklem indeksi, el deformite indeksi ve eritrosit sedimentasyon hızı (ESH) arasındaki pozitif korelasyon istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulundu (p 0.05).
