Determination of the psychological and social needs of the spouses who cared for the patients with the cancer

Kanser hastasına bakım veren eşlerin duygusal ve sosyal gereksinimlerinin belirlenmesi

Abstract

This descriptive study has been made to for determination of the emotional and social needs of spouses who cared to patients with the cancer. 100 patients who had been treated in Oncology and Hematology departments between January 2005-June 2005 were included. "Personel Information Form" and "Form for Identifying Emotional and Social Problems" which was improvised by the investigetor were used for data collection. One-Way Anova, One Sample Test and Independent Sample Tests were used for data evaluation. According to the results obtained in the study, important veriables affecting the emotional and social problems of the spouses giving care to the patients with cancer were; educational status of the spouses, occupations of spouses, shearing position of the married and daily care period. In conclusion, important differences have been determined in the emotional and social needs of spouses giving care to patients with cancer and proper suggestions are improvised.

Bu araştırma kanser hastasına bakım veren eşlerin duygusal ve sosyal gereksinimlerini belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Ocak 2005-Haziran 2005 tarihleri arasında onkoloji ve hematoloji servislerinde yatarak tedavi gören 100 hasta örnekleme alınmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" ve araştırıcı tarafından geliştirilen "Duygusal ve Sosyal Sorunları Belirleme Formu" kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde Tek Yönlü Varyans Analizi (One-Way Anova), Evren Ortalaması Önemlilik Testi (One Sample Test), İki Ortalama Arasındaki Farkın Önemlilik Testi (Independent Samples Test) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre; kanser hastasına bakım veren eşlerin duygusal ve sosyal sorunlarını etkileyen önemli değişkenler; eşlerin eğitim durumu, eşlerin meslekleri, evlilikteki paylaşım durumu olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu bulgular doğrultusunda, kanser hastasına bakım veren eşlerin duygusal ve sosyal gereksinimlerinde önemli farklılıklar olduğu belirlenmiş ve sonuçlara uygun öneriler geliştirilmiştir.
