Psycho-social and economic problems of the patients and services given by social workers to solve these problems

Abstract
Social work is a profession, the purposes of which are; to enhance the problem solving capacities of people; to refer people to the systems that can provide them with the resources, services and opportunities; to promote the effectiveness and humanitarian aspects of the systems and to contribute to the development and improvement of social policy. Psycho-social and economic problems the patients are exposed to apart from their own medical ones, and the services given by social workers to solve these problems discussed in this study.

Sosyal hizmet mesleği, insanların problem çözme kapasitelerini arttırmayı; kaynak, hizmet ve olanak sağlayacak sistemlere müracaatçıları sevketmeyi; bu sistemlerin etkin ve insancıl olarak işlev görmesini sağlamayı; sosyal politikaların gelişimi ve ilerlemesi için katılımda bulunmayı amaçlayan bir meslektir. Araştırmada hastaların tıbbi sorunları dışında karşılaştıkları psiko-sosyal sorunlar ve bu sorunların çözümü için sosyal hizmet uzmanlarınca verilen hizmetler incelenmiştir.
