Evaluation of the level of knowledge of the high school 3rd year students on Thalassemia

Abstract
This cross-sectional research was done in the central part of Antalya in 1998-1999 education period. The aim of the study was to find out the knowledge level of student's on thalassemia and to determine the requirements of the school health education. According to the findings of this research the knowledge of these stundents was found to be inadequate. It was determined that their knowledge on thalassemia is insufficient and there is a need for further training.
Özet
Antalya merkezde 1998-1999 eğitim-öğretim yılında lise 3. sınıfta bulunan öğrencilerin Talasemi hastalığı ve bu hastalığın sonuçları hakkındaki bilgi düzeylerini ölçmek ve bu bilgiler ışığında okul sağlık eğitimi gereksinimlerini saptamak amacıyla yapılmış, kesitsel, betimleyici bir alan araştırmasıdır. Araştırma sonucu bulgularına göre öğrencilerin daha önceden bilgi alma oranlarının çok az; Talasemi konusundaki bilgilerinin yetersiz olduğu ve bu konuda eğitime gereksinimleri olduğu belirlenmiştir.
