The evaluation of the health status among students in elementary schools in the Center of Orhangazi, Bursa

Abstract
This study was contucted between April 17, 2002 andJanuary 30, 2002, among 7184 students who have been educating in 8 elementary schools in the center of Orhangazi, Bursa, in this study it was aimed to determine the health status ofthe students by physical examinations. The most four frequent problems were decayed teeth (86.8 %), problems in the ear (28.7 %), problems ofthe throat (19.8 %) and refraction pathologies (15.7 %). Most ofthe students (96.4 %) had at least öne system pathology. This made us think that while beginning the school and the following years, the students should be examined physically every yedr especially by means of seeing, hearing and teeth health.

Bu çalışma, 17 Nisan 2000 ve 30 Ocak 2002 tarihleri arasında Bursa ili Orhangazi ilçe merkezindeki 8 ilköğretim okulunda okuyan 7184 öğrencide yapılmıştır. Bu çalışmada fizik muayene yöntemleriyle öğrencilerin sağlık durumlarının saptanması amaçlanmıştır. En sık rastlanan dört sorun, çürük diş (%86.8), kulak (%28.7), boğaz sorunları (%19.8) ve gözde kırma kusurlarıdır (% 15.7). Öğrencilerin büyük çoğunluğunda (%96.4) en az bir sistem patolojisi vardır. Bu da öğrencilerin okula başlarken ve sonraki yıllarda yılda bir kez genel muayeneden geçirilmeleri ve özellikle görme, işitme ve diş sağlığı yönünden incelenmeleri gerektiğini düşündürmektedir.
