Foster care services from a clinical perspective

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to reveal the problems of foster care services in our country from a clinical perspective. The problem were identified which through observations of the treatment and monitoring process of25 children who were placed in foster families and who applied to child psychiatry department with various reasons between 2003 - 2005. The experiences gained from the studies carriedout with fosterfamilies in a psychiatric setting, show that in order to have a higher standard of foster care services, the foster families and the professional staff require a well - structured and continues training.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, koruyucu aile yanına yerleştirilmiş olan ve 2003 - 2005 yıllarında çocuk ruh sağlığı bölümüne çeşitli nedenlerle başvuran 25 çocuğun tedavileri ve izlemleri süresince elde edilen deneyimlerle, ülkemizdeki koruyucu aile hizmetlerine ilişkin klinik perspektiften gözlemlenen sorunları ortaya koymaktır. Klinik ortamda koruyucu ailelerle yapılan çalışmalardan elde edilen deneyimler, ülkemizde koruyucu aile hizmetlerinin standardının yükseltilmesi için koruyucu ailelerin ve bu alanda çalışan profesyonellerin iyi yapılandırılmış ve sürekliliği olan bir eğitim programına gereksinimleri olduğunu göstermektedir.
