Abstract
This study gives information about functions, educations, social and economic states of nursing's society at Ottoman Empire in the 19th century by examining records conserning nurses from Ottoman Archival Catalogues of the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry State Archives General Directorate andreviewing literatures.

Bu çalışma litaretür bilgisi ve Başbakanlık Devlet Arşivleri'ndeki ilgili belgelerde hemşirelere ait kayıtların incelenmesi ile 19. yüzyılda Osmanlı'da hemşirelik kurumunun işlevleri, sosyal ve ekonomik konumu, eğitimi hakkında bilgi vermektedir.
