Abstract
INTRODUCTION: It is often stated that there is a shortage of nurses in Turkey, however there is no data relating to how nurses are employed or the quality and number of nurses that are needed.AIM: This study was performed in order to identify the areas of business where nurses are needed the most and assess the required qualifications through an analysis of job advertisements in Turkey.METHODS: This is a descriptive and a cross-sectional study. Advertisements published by three widely known job search engines in Turkey on the 24th of September 2013 were scanned using the keyword "nurse". The data were gathered from 750 advertisements, and then grouped and analyzed. Evaluation of data was carried out through the using of descriptive and comparative analysis via SPSS 21.00 software.RESULTS: In the majority of the advertisements, nurses were working full-time (98.5%). for hospitals (66.4%) and inpatient services (41.9%) Whilst no vocational criteria were mentioned in 4.1% of the advertisements, some of them stated that nurses/health officers (70.7%), and other health professions (24.8%) were wanted. Many advertisements did not state a minimum level of education (80.8%) and experience (41.2%). However, most of them included a job description (61.7%), and the information given in as many as 81.9% of these ads was sufficient to be treated as a "job description".CONCLUSION: According to the results, it is evident that the contents of job advertisements are lacking in certain areas, specifically in terms of detailed job descriptions and necessary qualifications. Education and experience are not considered too important due to the nursing shortage and people from other professions are employed in place of professional nurses.
Özet
GİRİŞ: Türkiye'de hemşire yetersizliğinden sıkça söz edilmekle birlikte, hangi alanlarda ve hangi nitelikte hemşirelere gereksinim duyulduğuna yönelik yeterli veri bulunmamaktadır.AMAÇ: Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de insan kaynakları web sitelerinde yayımlanan iş ilanlarının incelenerek, hangi çalışma alanlarında hangi niteliklerde hemşire arandığının belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır.YÖNTEM: Çalışma tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel niteliktedir. Çalışmada Türkiye'deki insan kaynakları sitelerinden en fazla bilinen üç tanesinde, 24 Eylül 2013 tarihinde yayında olan ilanlar "hemşire" anahtar sözcüğü ile tarandı. Toplam 750 ilandaki veriler gruplanarak bilgisayar ortamına aktarıldı. IBM SPSS Statistics 21 programı aracılığıyla betimleyici ve karşılaştırmalı analizler gerçekleştirildi. BULGULAR: İlanların büyük çoğunluğunda tam zamanlı olarak (%98,5), hastanelerde (%66,4) ve yatan hasta servislerinde (%41,9) çalışacak hemşireler aranmaktadır. İlanların %4,1'inde herhangi bir meslek kriteri belirtilmemişken, meslek kriteri aranan ilanların bazılarında yalnızca hemşire veya sağlık memuru (%70,7) olma aranırken bazılarında hemşire ve sağlık memuru olmanın yanında diğer sağlık meslek üyelerinin de (%24,8) başvurabileceği belirtilmiştir. İlanların %80,8'inde eğitim, %41,2'sinde deneyim ölçütü aranmamaktadır. İlanların %61,7'sinde iş tanımı bulunmakla birlikte, bunların %81,9'unda verilen bilgiler "iş tanımı" olarak değerlendirilemeyecek niteliktedir.SONUÇ: Elde edilen sonuçlara göre; hemşire iş ilanlarının, iş tanımı ve aranan nitelikler açısından yetersiz olduğu, hemşire gereksinimi nedeniyle eğitim ve deneyimin önemsenmediği, hemşirelik işi yapmaları için diğer meslek üyelerinin de arandığı söylenebilir.
