Abstract

Izmir Atatürk Museum located on the Atatürk Street of 1st Kordon has reopened to visits after the last exhibition and arrangement studies carried out on 17 February 2002. In the scope of the project prepared by Traditional Turkish Handicrafts Division in the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dokuz Eylül University, in Izmir Atatürk Museum an inventory was conducted. In this study, among the ethnographic goods available in the depot 9 curtains which were woven through cicim technique were also examined. But, among the similar H1 weavings in these cicim curtains only two were excluded from the article. Explanations related to technical, characteristics, design characteristics and design patterns of 7 cicim curtains were included. In addition, they were compared with some cicim weavings demonstrating similar local characteristics (e.g. Sivas, Malatya,Konya and Kayseri).
