The efficacy and role of perindopril/amlodipine combination in the treatment of hypertension

Abstract

Most patient with hypertension require combination therapy with 2 or more antihypertensive agent to achieve their blood pressure goal. An angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor (perindopril) and a calcium channel blocker (amlodipine) combination is one of the preferred combinations in the guidelines. It has been shown to reduce blood pressure efficacy of this combination. Complementary blood pressure reduction mechanisms of this two drugs is synergistic, and this combination has beneficial metabolic effects, vascular protective actions,reduced incidence of side effects.

Hipertansif hastaların çoğunda hedef kan basıncı değerlerine ulaşabilmek için iki veya daha fazla antihipertansif ilaç kombinasyonu gerekmektedir. Bir anjiyotensin konverting enzim inhibitörü (perindopril) ile bir kalsiyum kanal blokeri (amlodipin) kombinasyonu kılavuzlarda önerilen uygun kombinasyonlardan biridir. Bu kombinasyonun kan basıncını düşürmedeki etkinliği gösterilmiştir. Bu iki ilacın tamamlayıcı kan basıncını düşürücü etkisi sinerjistiktir, olumlu metabolik etkileri ve vasküler koruyucu etkileri vardır, yan etkileri daha düşüktür.
