Abstract
Spontaneous rectus sheath haematoma is an uncommon, often misdiagnosed as serious surgical abdominal mass, and usually a self-limited condition. Three personally observed cases are reported. All cases had a tender abdominal mass palpated in the rectus muscles following anticoagulant therapy. Its epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnostic examinations and treatment are discussed with respect to anticoagulant therapy
