Abstract
Although pectus excavatum is a common clinical appearence as one of the thorax deformities, in thoracal surgery clinics1, it is rarely seen in our cardiovasculer surgery clinic. Our usual surgical approch to the cardiac problems is mostly via median sternatomy as it is a common conventional method throughout the world. However, this approach through median sternatomy may cause a lot of complications in these patiens with thoracal deformities like pectus excavatum2. So, because of its effectivity, security and perfect cosmetic resuts, we prefer right anterolateral thoracotomy as an alternative to median sternatomy for the young women and the patients with pectus excavatum that will undergo mitral valve replacement.
