Uveal malign melanoma in a 9 years old child ( Case report )

Abstract

A nine years old boy was admitted to the hospital due to the blurring of the vision. Biomicroscopic examination revealed the vitreus condensation and mass image invading the retina Tumoral mass detected by means of ultrasonography and tomography. No sign of metastasis was detected. The involved eye was enucleated for intraocular tumor. Pathologic examination documented mix type uveal melanoma. During the period of twenty-two months follow up, this patient is in good condition.

Özet

Dokuz yaşında bir erkek çocuk görme bulanıklığı nedeni ile başvurdu. Biomikroskopik muayenede vitreus kondensasyonu ve retinayı kaplayan kitle imajı saptandı. Tümöral kitle orbita tomografisi ve ultrasonografi ile tesbit edildi. Metastaz saptanmadı. Hasta göze tümör nedeni ile enükleasyon yapıldı. Patolojik incelemede mikst tip uvea melanomu tanısı kondu. 22 aylık gözlem süresinde hasta iyi durumdadır.
