Abstract
A case of one year old girl with the diagnosis of bilateral Peters' anomaly was operated for corneal opacities. Keratoplasty and lensectomy was performed and the corneal button was studied for histopathologic changes. Light microscopic study revealed a central defect in endothelium and Descemet membrane. Electron microscopic study, on the other hand, revealed a splitting of Descemet membrane into two at the edge of the central defect region which was not identified previously. The grafts were clear on the left and right eyes at the 16th and 14th postoperative months respectively.
