Our initial experience with osteointegrated orbital exenteration implant

Abstract
Orbital exenteration is a radical surgery that may result in a cosmetically disfiguring appearance. The purpose of this report is to present the results of osteointegrated orbital exenteration prosthesis in a patient with adenoid cystic carcinoma of the lacrimal gland who underwent lid-sparing orbital exenteration. Osteointegrated implant supported orbital prosthesis produces good retention and cosmetic results in patients with exenterated orbits.

Ekzenterasyon ameliyatı kötü estetik görünüm bırakan radikal bir cerrahi girişimdir. Biz bu çalışmada adenoid kistik karsinom nedeni ile kapak koruyucu ekzenterasyon yapılan ve arkasından radyoterapi uygulanan bir hastada kliniğimizde ilk defa uygulanan osteoentegre implant destekli orbita ekzenterasyon protezinin sonucunu sunmayı amaçladık. Osteoentegre implant destekli orbita protezi, ekzenterasyon sonrası iyi retansiyon ve kozmetik görünüm sağlamaktadır.
