On the revelation: Its nature, possibility and justification

Abstract
In this article the revelation, as a basic religious concept, will be examined analytically in terms of philosophy, Christian theology and Is-lamic Kalaam. To be able to do this, first the nature of revelation will be focused on, then the usage of the concept will be analyzed in the perspec-tives of religious and philosophical texts, and then religious and philo-sophical implications of the propositional, personal and emanational un-derstandings of revelation will be indicated. Finally, the question of possi-bility and justifiability will be investigated in terms of both Islamic and Western thought.
Özet
Bu yazıda dinin temel bir kavramı olan vahiy analitik bir yaklaşımla felse-fi, teolojik ve kelami açılardan ele alınacaktır. Bunu yaparken önce vah-yin mahiyeti üzerinde durulacak, kavramın kelime ve terim olarak kulla-nımı, dini ve felsefi metinlerden yola çıkılarak tahlil edildikten sonra, bil-dirim, feyezan ve hulûl olarak anlaşılan vahiy anlayışlarının dini ve felsefi sonuçlarına işaret edilecektir. Son olarak vahyin imkânı ve doğrulanması meselesi, hem İslam düşüncesi hem de Batı/Hıristiyan düşüncesi açısından analiz edilecektir.
