Chestnut selection in Camili vicinity (Artvin-Borçka)

Abstract
This research was conducted in Camili vicinity of Borçka district of Artvin province. It was aimed to select the chestnut genotypes (Castanea sativa Mill.), which have superiornut characteristics and yield capacity. The weighted-rankit method was used to evaluate the chestnut types. Totally, 11 chestnut genotypes were investigated in 1999-2001 in the vicinity. As a result, the genotypes of 08-Camili-13 and 08-Camili-8 were selected for chestnut paste and general quality.
Özet
Bu araştırma, Artvin'in Borçka ilçesi Camili yöresinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada, yöredeki kestane ağaçları içerisinde meyve kalitesi ve verim yönünden en üstün olan kestane tiplerinin (Castanea sativa Mili.) seçilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Kestane tiplerinin değerlendirilmesinde tartılı derecelendirme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Yörede 1999-2001 yıllarında toplam 11 tip incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda, genel kalite ve kestane hamuru için 08-Camili-13 ve 08-Camili-8 nolu tipler selekte edilmiştir
