Abstract

The major neurologic manifestations of vitamin B12 deficiency are the result of its effects on the brain, optic nerves, peripheral nerves and spinal cord. Subacute combined degeneration (SCD) of the spinal cord, characterized by degeneration of lateral and posterior columns, is a complication of vitamin B12 deficiency.Herein, we present a case of subacute combined degeneration due to vitamin B12 defiency whose magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed involvement in the anteior column of cervical spinal cord.

Özet

Vitamin B12 eksikliğinde; beyin, optik sinir, periferal sinirler ve spinal kordun etkilenmesine bağlı olarak önemli nörolojik belirtiler görülür. Subakut kombine dejenerasyon (SKD), spinal kordun lateral ve posterior kolonlarında dejenerasyon ile karakterize vitamin B12 eksikliğine bağlı bir komplikasyonudur. Biz burada magnetik rezonans görüntüleme tetkikinde (MRG) servikal spinal kordun anterior kolonunda tutulumu olan vitamin B12 eksikliği bağlı subakut kombine dejenerasyon olgusunu sunuyoruz
