THE COMPARISON OF IAS 11 AND TURKISH LEGISLATIONS ON ACCOUNTING OF AREAS ON CONSTRUCTION, COMMITMENTS AND REPAIR WORKS SPREAD OVER YEARS AND A CASE STUDY

Abstract
There are two accounting methods for construction contracts. These are Completed Contract Method and Percentage of Completion Method. 11th Turkish Accounting Standard requires the percentage-of-completion methodto be used for the valuation of construction contracts. But according to Turkish tax laws the completed-contractmethod is used. On our study, the financial statements revised in accordance with the tax legislation and theframe work of IAS 11 constructional contract standards have been compared and variances analized. Obtainedresults have demonstrated the entity of tax pay and net profit remained unchanged in both methods but in the taxpayment periods of the firm significant differences has been observed. Özet
Yıllara Yaygın İnşaat, Taahhüt ve Onarım İşlerinin Muhasebeleştirilmesinde iki yöntem kullanılmaktadır. BunlarTamamlanmış Sözleşme Yöntemi ve Tamamlanma Yüzdesi Yöntemidir. 11 numaralı Türkiye Muhasebe Standardında, inşaat sözleşmelerinin muhasebeleştirilmesinde Tamamlanma Yüzdesi Yöntemi kullanılmaktadır.Türkiye’deki vergi kanunlarına göre ise Tamamlanmış Sözleşme Yöntemi uygulanmaktadır. Çalışmada seçilenişletmenin vergi mevzuatına göre düzenlenmiş finansal tabloları ile TMS 11 İnşaat Sözleşmeleri Standardıçerçevesinde düzenlenen finansal tabloları karşılaştırılmıştır ve değişiklikler incelenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar;işletmenin ödeyeceği vergi ve elde ettiği net kar her iki yöntemde de değişmediğini fakat işletmenin ödeyeceğivergilerin dönemlerinde önemli farklılıklar olduğunu göstermiştir. Bu farklılıkların oluşum nedeni tamamenuygulanan yöntemlerden kaynaklanmıştır
