Bu amaçla, 2010-2011 öğretim yılı bahar döneminde Şanlıurfa ilindeki 4. ve 7. Sınıftan seçilen toplam 437 öğrenciye matematik tutum ölçeği ve matematik dersi kaygı ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Sonuç olarak ilköğretim öğrencilerin matematiğe yönelik kaygıları cinsiyet, anne mesleği, baba mesleği, anne öğrenim durumu, baba öğrenim durumu, aylık gelir ve destek eğitim alma değişkenlerine göre değişmezken, sınıf düzeyi, kardeş sayısı, karne notu ve matematiği sevmede etkili kişi değişkenlerine göre farklılık göstermektedir. İlköğretim öğrencilerin matematiğe yönelik tutumları cinsiyet, anne mesleği, baba mesleği, anne öğrenim durumu, baba öğrenim durumu, aylık gelir, kardeş sayısı ve karne notu değişkenlerine göre değişmezken, sınıf düzeyi, destek eğitim alma ve matematiği sevmede etkili kişi değişkenlerine göre farklılık göstermektedir. Matematiğe yönelik kaygı ile tutum arasında pozitif yönde ve düşük düzeyde bir ilişki bulunmuştur . Araştırma sonuçları hakkında öğretmen ve aileler bilgilendirilirse, öğrenci kaygılarını azaltmaya dönük fikirler üretilebilir.

For this purpose, mathematics attitude scale and mathematics lesson anxiety scale were conducted to total of 437 students selected from the 4th and 7th grade in Şanlıurfa in the spring semester of 2010-2011 academic year. As a result, primary school students' anxieties toward mathematics do not differ according to gender, parents’ occupation, parents’ education status, monthly income level and taking or not extra support course. Besides, students' anxieties toward mathematics differ according to variables of class level, number of siblings, math scores and the person who encourage them to love mathematics. The attitudes of primary school students towards mathematics do not differ according to the variables of gender, mother 's and father' s profession, parents’ education status, family monthly income level, number of siblings and math scores of students. But the attitudes of primary school students towards mathematics do differ according to the variables of taking or not extra support course, class level, and the person who encourage them to love mathematics. In this research, a positive low level of relationship between anxiety and attitude towards mathematics were found.
